“Jamie's workshops have felt spacious, light, tender and kind. I feel wholeheartedly nourished and closer to myself through his work. There is always something new I understand. I return home inspired and curious.” – Clarissa, Artist and Teacher "This work is valuable in my everyday life, and in my life as a teacher and artist. I notice how many people are benefiting; not only my students - their ease and calm is making waves in their families and work places." - Kate, Somatic Movement Teacher

Unplug to Connect with Non-Sleep Deep Rest (NSDR)
This restorative break from the demands of the outer world is designed to literally bring you back down to Earth. We lie down, get comfortable, and relax into a “sensate presence” by exploring varied streams of breath in a rhythm of movement and stillness. Non-Sleep Deep Rest (NSDR), an essential ingredient in Somatic Expression for regeneration and renewal, has been brought to public attention through the work of Stanford researcher Andrew Huberman (YouTube talk HERE) Each session builds on the one prior, introducing a repertoire of resources from the five basic somatic technologies - breath, vocalization, contact, movement and stillness - that can be called upon in daily life for self-regulation and satisfaction. Unplug to Connect was previously titled Thinking Body, Sensing Mind, and is based on the contemplative sitting practices of Embodied Mindfulness. (Embodied Mindfulness class dates here) Interested? View the video introduction to the September 9, 2023 morning session HERE and then participate with the morning guided practice HERE (MP3) or with the afternoon guided practice HERE (MP3) Lie down on the ground, get comfortable and follow along as we settle in and down while focusing and wandering.
Each series is offered as "pay according to your economic means" sliding scale ($95-175/Series of 9 Classes) All sessions are recorded for participant downloading and playback. To Register: 1) Send an email HERE confirming the series you wish to attend |
“To stop your mind does not mean to stop the activities of the mind. It means your mind pervades your whole body." - Shunryu Suzuki, Zen Master "Being mindful is not a matter of thinking more clearly about experience; it is the act of experiencing more clearly. Mindfulness simply demands that we pay close attention to the flow of experience in each moment." - Sam Harris |
